The Art of Being Present
I am a self-taught contemporary artist. I discovered my passion for creating art in adulthood. Since then, I have received several portrait commissions, had a drawing auctioned in New Zealand to support the conservation of an endangered bird species, and been invited by park rangers to volunteer as a nature-sketching instructor at a Texas state park.
Today, I continue to explore color, contrast, unusual subjects, and the intimate details of the world around us.
My mission is to create art that draws people in and invites them to look closer, explore, and become absorbed in what they see. Through unexpected combinations of color, form, and detail, I want to spark a sense of wonder so powerful that, for a moment, the mind grows quiet and the experience of simply being present takes over.
In a world filled with constant thinking and distractions, I want my art to offer a moment of wonder—a chance to become fully immersed in the experience of seeing.
